
Biography
Benjamin Harvey is of Hopi and Navajo descent and grew up in Tuba City, AZ. Ben joined the Center for Indigenous Health as a Research Program Coordinator with Project SafeSchools in May of 2021.
Prior to joining the Center, he worked at the Eisenhower Elementary school in the Mesa Public School District as the Active and Healthy Schools Coordinator. Ben also worked with the Office of Diné Youth, the TCRHCC – Health Promotion/Diabetes Prevention Program; coordinating the JMI, Hiking Series, and Get Fit Challenge, and teaching group fitness classes. Ben also worked with the CORE Response Team during the COVID-19 Pandemic; packaging food boxes and coordinating food drives. He then worked as a contract tracer with COPE at the Gallup Indian Medical Center and TCRHCC.
Ben received his BS in Public Health with a focus on Health Behaviors from University of Arizona. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, reading, and exercising.
