Christopher Kemp

Biography

Christopher is a member of Ng’i Tahu iwi of Aotearoa (New Zealand). He joined the Center for Indigenous Health in June of 2021 and works as an Assistant Scientist across the Center’s mental health and reproductive health teams. He is an implementation scientist focused on supporting health systems and communities to deliver services that community members need and want. Christopher has a particular interest in preventive and treatment services related to mental health, HIV, and nutrition. He is committed to collaborating with and learning from Native communities in the promotion of health equity and flourishing.

Christopher has expertise in mixed methods and qualitative research, program evaluation, economic evaluation, epidemiology, and biostatistics. He has been involved in program implementation and research with the World Health Organization, UNICEF, NIH Fogarty Center, Wellcome Trust, I-TECH, and PATH.

He holds an MPH and PhD from the University of Washington School of Public Health. He spends his free time in the mountains or on the water with his partner and two small children.
