Tending Our Roots is a conversation-based podcast that uplifts Indigenous voices, knowledge, and ways of being as pathways to well-being. With support from CIRCLE Center of Excellence and funding from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Dr. Miigis Gonzalez (Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe) and Dr. Jill Fish (lineal descendant of the Tuscarora Nation) just finished up their very first season of Tending Our Roots ! The podcast aired 10 episodes, featuring amazing conversations with Indigenous scholars, artists, knowledge holders, and community leaders from across the world. Haven’t listened to the podcast yet? Registration is open for the 2026 Johns Hopkins Global Health Summer Institute! We are excited to offer several week-long courses in Indigenous public health this summer.

Three are new courses that are part of our upcoming Indigenous Health DrPH curriculum. This is the only year these courses will be offered during Summer Institute, so don’t miss the opportunity to “test run” them before applying to the full program. Deadline for scholarships is April 1.
