Biography

Kim joined the Center for Indigenous Health in September of 2018 and serves as a Research Nurse in Whiteriver, AZ.

Prior to joining the Center, Kim worked at VISTA (now known as AmeriCorps) a domestic Peace Corp, where she was assigned to work as the Agency Liaison to the San Antonio Food Bank, one of the first Second Harvest Food Banks in the United States. Kim established 144 local 501C3 agencies and churches as recipients for donated foods. She then joined Naval Intelligence and served a total of 6 years of active service which included Desert Storm. After discharge, she worked as a private investigator in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. While going back to school to obtain her BS in Nursing, she worked as a Veterinary Technician at the Virginia Beach SPCA. After several years as a pediatric nurse, Kim was hired by IHS in Whiteriver, AZ. She then moved to the hospital compound in Whiteriver and became a Public Health Nurse within a year. She continued to work in the Whiteriver/Cibecue community until she joined the Center.

Kim received her BA degree in Philosophy/Psychology from Sam Houston State University and her BSN from Old Dominion University.
