Repository Disclaimer

Our approach to community or cultural identifiers in this repository considered the following: We name cultural groups or communities verbatim when citing publicly accessible information. In other instances, we name communities only with explicit approval of Tribal governing boards or designees. Where unclear, we have de-identified community or cultural names and instead indicated their geographic region.

Our approach to sourcing the included measures started with an internal search within the Center for Indigenous Health for past and current measures used in research projects. Additionally, we included measures that quantitatively assessed domains of Indigenous culture, as identified by an independent systematic review conducted by Walls et al. (2026).1 For measures that were not easily publicly accessible, our team made good-faith efforts to contact corresponding authors to share the measures. If a measure was not freely available, we do not provide access to the tool itself, and instead limit its inclusion to its description with citations.

If you feel there is an error with any of the measures or content in this repository, please do not hesitate to contact us at circleresearchcore@gmail.com and we will work with you on an appropriate remedy.
