Biography
Crystal Austin is of the Zuni Edgewater and Towering House clans of the Diné. With over 15 years of experience, she is a nationally recognized expert in early childhood home visiting curricula and practices within tribal communities.
Crystal has dedicated her career to supporting and training tribal communities nationwide, helping them integrate home visiting and early childhood programs. Her extensive expertise spans behavioral health programming and maternal and child health among Indigenous populations.
As the Director of External Affairs at the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health, Crystal passionately champions the work to reclaim wellness among Indigenous communities. Ms. Austin and her family currently reside on the unceded homelands of the Onk Akimel O’odham (Pima) and the Xalychidom Piipaash (Maricopa) People in Phoenix, AZ but calls Diné tah (northern AZ) home.
