Biography

Rohan (he/him/his) joined the Center for Indigenous Health as a Research Associate in August 2024. His work focuses on Native-RISE — a machine-learning suicide prevention intervention for three tribal healthcare clinics servicing the White Mountain Apache Tribe and Navajo Nation. He has been involved in the machine learning model development and evaluation, as well as the qualitative data collection and analysis surrounding perspectives of Native-RISE. Before working with the Center, he was a research assistant and project coordinator at Boston Medical Center, where he used qualitative research methods to characterize the mental health needs of minoritized populations. Additionally, he volunteered as a Crisis Counselor at Crisis TextLine to assist people across the United States with acute mental health crises. He is honored to work with Indigenous communities to promote equitable solutions to public health disparities and is passionate about working on culturally informed and reducing mental health disparities. Rohan received his BS in Biology from Northeastern University in 2022 and his MPH from Boston University in 2024. In his free time, he loves spending time with family, spending time outdoors or playing tennis, baking sourdough bread, and exploring cities.
