About
Ashley, a proud member of the Navajo Nation, is T ł ‘ízí lání (Many Goats), born for the Mą’ii deeshgiizhinii (Coyote Pass). Her maternal grandpa is of the Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge) and her paternal grandpa is Tótsohnii (Big Water). She is from Lok’aahnteel, the Wide Reed Valley also known as Ganado, Arizona.
Ashley is committed to advancing Indigenous wellbeing through meaningful engagement with Indigenous communities and non-Indigenous institutions. She works in alignment with Hózhó, recognizing the importance of balance and harmony in spiritual, emotional, mental, and physical wellbeing, and supports collaborative efforts that uplift Indigenous communities, honor their knowledge systems, and strengthen connection and belonging.
A key focus of her work is fostering a sense of belonging for Indigenous people and encouraging her relatives to take up space with confidence and visibility. She is also motivated by sharing the strengths of her organization and cultivating meaningful partnerships to advance its mission and vision.
Ashley joined the Center in February 2023 and serves as an Administrative Coordinator in Baltimore, Maryland, where she supports the Education and Training Program. She has developed a strong passion for supporting and improving the health of NDN Country and is currently pursuing a degree in Mass Communication and Media Studies at Arizona State University, FORKS UP! Outside of work, she enjoys family time, festivals, and gym time.
