About
Joanna joined the team in March 2025 as Manager of Individual Giving. She focuses on deepening the connection between supporters with the people, work, and heart of the Center. Joanna herself has been a friend of the Center since 2016 when she first started at Johns Hopkins and learned about their commitment to community partnerships for advancing Indigenous well-being and health leadership.
Joanna brings over 25 years of diverse experiences in fundraising, education, advocacy, business development, and collaborative growth. She has provided leadership and strategic consultation to diverse causes that promote public health, including children & families, international development, environmental health, caregiving, and disabilities & mental health.
Joanna has a Bachelor’s Degree in International Development and a Master’s Degree in Non-Profit Management. While originally from Seattle, she has lived in Maryland with her husband since 2008. Joanna is appreciating the stage of life where she can cheer on her two adult daughters as they chase their own dreams. When possible, Joanna enjoys walking under the trees, exploring new roads, digging in the dirt in her perennial garden, and snuggling her cat, Labrodane, and Great Dane.
