About

Kathleen joined the Center for Indigenous Health in September of 2020. She helps to lead the Communications and External Affairs team with communications strategy, content development and project management. Previously based in Gallup, NM, Kathleen has experience coordinating community outreach across Navajo Nation and enjoys coaching field-based teammates on public speaking to a variety of audiences.

She has built a career working for social impact organizations – previously as a grant writer at Partners in Health’s Navajo Nation-based nonprofit (COPE), communications lead for the Oakland Unified School District and as a Public Information Officer for the California Department of Industrial Relations.

In her current position, she strives to promote greater understanding of the Center’s work for both external audiences as well as internally for Center staff based across our locations. She has an MPH from Boston University and a BA in Communications from Fordham University.  Kathleen is currently based in Pittsburgh, PA where she enjoys  going on adventures with her son Sage, daughter Sonora and husband Neil who is a family physician.
