About

Kervin, a member of the Diné Nation, is Táchii’nii (Red Running into the Water People Clan), born for the Ashiihi(Salt People). His maternal grandpa is of the Hon¡gh¡ahnii (One who walks around), and his paternal grandpa is Tł’ááshchi’i (Red bottom people). He joined the Center in February of 2026. Kervin works as a Research Assistant in Chinle, AZ, and is involved in implementing, coordinating, and evaluating the behavioral health program Hastiin Bidziil (Strong Man).

Before joining the Center, Kervin worked in mental health, supporting the homeless population and working with individuals who suffer from substance use disorder (SUD). In some cases, individuals with severe mental illness are also affected. During this period, he had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations, from young children to elders, promoting their mental health and wellness. It was in this capacity that he developed a passion for working in mental & behavioral health to improve the health of his fellow brothers and sisters.

Kervin has a BA degree in Psychology from Fort Lewis College and will continue to pursue a master’s in psychology. Kervin has a passion for learning new skills and developing them to apply them in the real world, in hopes that they could benefit those who struggle with mental and behavioral health challenges. Kervin loves being around his family: 2 little girls and a supportive, loving wife. The outdoors is his reset, and he enjoys hiking, traveling to new places, and fishing. Kervin hopes to keep building people up and becoming the best versions of themselves, and professionally growing in his journey in the mental health field.
