About
Stephany Medina (she/her) is of Mexican, Czech, Irish, and Swedish descent. She joined the Center in June 2026 as a Senior Research Project Coordinator II and is based in the Great Lakes Hub in Duluth, Minnesota.
Stephany earned a degree in Exercise Physiology from the College of St. Scholastica, with a minor in Spanish. She later obtained a Master of Public Health degree from South Dakota State University. Throughout her career, she has contributed to a wide range of public health initiatives, including Community Health Needs Assessments, food security programs, opioid prevention efforts, health education, COVID-19 response activities, and public health planning and evaluation.
In her current role, Stephany is excited to support and coordinate activities within the Gii’igoshimong program.
Stephany lives in Superior, Wisconsin, with her partner, Tyler, their dog, Riley, and their cat, Layla. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the lake, coaching and playing rugby, and taking Riley on outdoor adventures.
