About
Summer Todecheene’s clans are Biih Bitoodnii, Tl’aash chii’i, Naakai Dine, and To’aheedliinii. She started working at the Johns Hopkins Center for Indigenous Health in the summer of 2024 as a Research Assistant at the Chinle site. Summer works on the Family Spirit Nurture program as a home visitor and health coach, promoting healthy infant feeding and growth.
She is the mother of a beautiful girl named Nova, and they enjoy staying healthy and active. Summer earned a bachelor’s degree in health care administration from Grand Canyon University and an associate’s degree in liberal arts at Diné College.
She has experience working and caring for people with disabilities, which has inspired her to pursue a career in the healthcare field. Her overall goal is to improve the community she works and lives in by promoting Indigenous knowledge and public health practices, as well as supporting her colleagues at the Center for Indigenous Health. Summer enjoys working out, cooking/baking, and cloud-gazing.
