Biography
Reese joined the Center for Indigenous Health in March of 2016 as a Research Associate II and has worked across several behavioral health projects related to early childhood obesity, food security, and water access. In her role, she is responsible for program management (i.e., supervision, training, program material development, data management, quality assurance, and reporting), as well as supporting community teams with all program activities, community engagement and collaboration. Reese works collaboratively with community sites to ensure the successful development and implementation of all programs.
Prior to joining the Center, Reese worked for the University of New Mexico Prevention Research Center where she evaluated local nutrition programs.
She holds an MPH from the University of New Mexico with a community and global health focus, and a BS in Natural Science from Loyola Marymount University. As part of her MPH, she worked in Uganda leading several public health initiatives related to the prevention of HIV/STIs, malaria, schistosomiasis and the promotion of safe water access, sanitation, and sexual & reproductive health in rural village.
Her interests include water access, food insecurity, obesity and diabetes prevention, and food systems policy. In her free time, Reese enjoys traveling, hiking, general exploration, and spending quality time with her American Dingo, “Khaleesi.”
