Biography

Urbina Yazzie is a Navajo woman from the Dine tribe. Her clans are Tabaaha (Water Edge Clan), born for Totsohnii (Big Water Clan). Her Maternal Grandfather was Nooda’i Dine’e (Ute Clan), her paternal Grandfather was Bit’ahnii (Within his Cover clan). Urbina joined the team in March of 2024, she currently works under the Dine Household Water Survey (DHSW) team. Her current position is Research program assistant at the Chinle site, the project is focused on providing access to clean water to those in challenged areas on the Navajo Nation.

Urbina’s motivation did change over the years, she graduated from Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute with her AA in Accounting and currently in the works of finishing her BA in Business Administration. After working for the Tribal Government, her inspiration did change into wanting to work for non-profits/projects to help her Native American Communities to provide assistant to those in need. Moving back to the reservation and becoming a mother of two has really changed the output on life and new goals. Urbina does enjoy, Running, cooking, listening to music, and traveling. She hopes to inspire others and makes things possible for upcoming Native American generations.
