Biography

Matthew Greyeyes is a member of the Navajo Nation. He is Tachii’nii (Red Running into the Water), Born for Naahili (African American People), His maternal Grandfather is To dich’ii’nii, and his paternal grandparents are Naahili (African American People).

Joining the Center for Indigenous Health in August 2024, Matthew Greyeyes works as a Research Assistant in Chinle, Arizona. Matthew is currently assisting on the Strong Fathers project. Prior to joining the Center for Indigenous Health Matthew graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Northern Arizona University majoring in Biomedical Science, with dual Minors in Navajo Language and Chemistry.

In his undergraduate career Matthew participated in undergraduate research assisting in Northern Arizona University’s Cardiovascular Regulation Laboratory under Dr. Sara Jarvis. Matthew plans to continue his education, going on to medical school. In his spare time Matthew enjoys reading mystery novels, playing video games, and crocheting.
