Biography

Alanna (Ogichidaakwe) is a member of the Red Lake Nation. She joined the Great Lakes Hub as a Sr. Research Program Coordinator in July 2024. Alanna holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition Science from St. Catherine University. She brings a wealth of experience from her previous role as the Nutrition Program Coordinator at a local Indigenous-led non-profit, where she was deeply involved in initiatives aimed at promoting food sovereignty and health equity.

Prior to her position with CIH, Alanna contributed to research efforts at the University of Minnesota Medical School’s Department of Family Medicine and Community Health, further honing her expertise in nutrition and community health. With a strong passion for advancing food sovereignty and addressing health disparities, Alanna is dedicated to creating impactful solutions that promote overall well-being. In her free time, Alanna enjoys cooking, art (mixed media, beading, and sewing), traveling, and exploring the outdoors with her dog, Mr. Banks.
