Biography

Cibonay Jimenez has over 20 years of professional experience in the Public Health, Education, Gender-based Violence, Mental Health, Social Services, Health Care, Substance Abuse, and Social Justice fields. Cibonay has a Master’s degree in Native American Studies with a focus on health and education and also completed four years of a Ph.D. program. Cibonay’s passion for this work derives from her rich history and experience as a trauma survivor and Native (Yaqui/Cazan Guamares)/Chicana woman. In addition to her professional experience working at various organizations, Cibonay teaches at various universities/community colleges and has also been an independent consultant for over twenty years providing technical assistance and training for organizations, states, tribes, and networks. Outside of her professional capacity, Cibonay loves being a wife and mom and loves nature.
