Biography
Faye McMillan is a Wiradjuri yinaa (woman) originally from Trangie, NSW, Australia. She is a community pharmacist recognised as the first Indigenous Australian to hold a Western degree in pharmacy. Faye is a strong advocate for improving Indigenous health care across professions and has spent the last three decades working in health and higher education.
Before joining the Center, Faye held roles as the Dirra Maa Indigenous Health Discipline Lead in the School of Public Health at the University of Technology Sydney, and acted as the National Rural Health Commissioner as well as a substantive position as one of two Deputy National Rural Health Commissioners. Faye is a member of the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC) and is also the chair of the APC Indigenous health strategy group.
Faye has a Doctorate of Health Science, a Master of Indigenous Health as well as a Masters of Social Change and Leadership and a BA in Pharmacy. She is the proud mum of two boys, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a niece and friend.
