Biography

Gabrielle (she/her) is a member of the Haliwa-Saponi Tribe in Eastern North Carolina. She joined the Center for Indigenous Health in August 2023 as a Provost Diversity Postdoctoral Fellow, where she hopes to expand research on Native American sexual well-being. She graduated from The University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston in August 2023 with a PhD in Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences and a Minor in Epidemiology. She is an award-winning sexuality educator and researcher, with research focusing on reducing sexual health disparities among Native American populations and analyzing the impact of historical and present traumas on Native sexual health. In addition to her professional obligations, Gabrielle enjoys traveling, tending to her plants, and spending time with her loved ones, including her dog, Daisy.
