Biography

Justin joined the Center for Indigenous Health in July of 2019 as a Research Associate working with the Behavioral Health team. Justin’s primary interest is addressing health disparities and structural inequities in tribal communities through health education. Justin has served as the primary author on numerous health education curricula at the Center, in addition to leading the development of the Center’s COVID-19 communications materials. Justin’s curriculum development work includes authoring curricula for Azhe’é Bidziil (Strong Fathers): Improving Outcomes Among Rural Native Fathers and Their Families; Wa’Kan ye’zah (Little Holy One); and Arrowhead Business Group. He has also produced over 20 fact sheets and 12 radio PSAs on a variety of COVID-19 topics for Native American communities.

Justin completed his BA in Journalism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his MPH in Health Behavior at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health.
