Biography

Lisa is Diné and Acoma Pueblo. She is Red Running into Water clan, born for Under His Cover clan. Her maternal grandfather is from the Acoma Pueblo tribe. Her paternal grandfather is from the Salt clan. Lisa is originally from Shiprock, NM, but resides in Farmington, NM. She joined the Center for Indigenous Health in 2013 on the Behavioral Health Team. Lisa has worked on various projects including the Together on Diabetes study, NativeVision, Family Spirit Nurture, Dine Hydration Project, Project SafeSchools, and Connection is Medicine.

Lisa currently works with the Honoring Life project, Native-Rise, and Family Spirit Strengths study. Lisa received her MSW degree from Northern Arizona University. She received her BSW degree from Eastern New Mexico University and her Associates in Human Services from San Juan College. In her free time, Lisa enjoys rock climbing, hiking, golfing, and disc golfing with her family.
