Biography

Maya Dizack joined the Center as a Graduate Research Assistant in September of 2023, and then transitioned to becoming a Research Associate in August 2024. Maya works with the Diné Household Water Survey and is involved in the coordination, analysis, and dissemination of data. Maya completed her Master of Science (ScM) in Environmental Health (BSPH ’24), and has focused on water quality research. In particular, she studied microplastics and public health with a keen interest in Environmental Epidemiology.

Maya has served Tribes in Washington state by providing direct community services within a social and behavioral health capacity. Her experiences working with Coastal Salish Tribes inspired her to return to school to empower communities through Environmental Health research. Maya currently works remotely in Lilliwaup, WA. Outside of work, she enjoys adventuring in the Olympic Mountains and spending time in the ocean.
