Biography
Shea joined the Center for Indigenous Health in June of 2018. She works as a data analyst in Baltimore, MD and is involved in both the Behavioral Health and Infectious Disease Teams. Shea supports studies around nutrition, water security, sexual and reproductive health, mental health, bacterial surveillance, and vaccine evaluation.
Prior to joining the Center, Shea worked in sexual and reproductive health and rights and family-planning decision-making. She worked on studies of HIV and DMPA use in Uganda, patient representation policy in Baltimore, and dissemination of WHO guidelines for the Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Women Living with HIV.
She has a BA in neuroscience and medicine, health, and society from Vanderbilt University and an MS in Public Health in International Health with a focus on social and behavioral interventions from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. She is currently pursuing a PhD in International Health with a focus on social and behavioral interventions from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
