Disease Prevention, Surveillance and Contact Tracing

Disease Prevention, Surveillance, and Contact Tracing

Our Center has supported tribal communities in tracking cases and setting up contact tracing and surveillance systems in order to help stop the spread of COVID-19. This has included providing guidance on best practices for quarantine and home isolation and connections to community resources as necessary. Support in these areas will vary as cases and needs fluctuate in the communities we work with.

Our infectious disease and health communication experts are developing a web-based COVID-19 dashboard that tribes nationwide can access to use to reduce community spread and severity of disease and deaths.

Center staff are also partnering with tribes in to maximize vaccine distribution and new technologies to promote better diagnostic testing, symptom monitoring and mapping of hotspots.
